'You could've taken anyone!’ said Ron in disbelief over dinner. ‘Anyone! And you chose Loony Lovegood?’
'Don't call her that, Ron,' snapped Ginny, pausing behind Harry on her way to join friends. 'I'm really glad you're taking her, Harry, she's so excited.'

as always, who is sentimental about their friendship? Not me, of course

imageof course i can tell you anon!!!

ok so i made my tv head with one of my friends (idk if you will need help it depends if you want any) and we followed this tutorial for the most parts but ill tell you what i did!

you will need:

  • a tv/computer (we got mine from our local thrift store for about 7 dolla)
  • spray paint of your choosing (we did a glossy spray paint and it didnt come out shiny so yay)
  • window tint (i got the brand Gila at home depot)
  • plexi glass
  • foam
  • hot glue and hot glue gun
  • rubber gloves (for safety!!!)
  • screw drivers and wire cutters
  • tin snips (or something to cut the hole for your head)
  • styrofoam cones/blocks to support your head and for the tv to not slip off your head

ok so we first set down a mat to work on and brought our tv in the garage. we then unscrewed the sides keeping the tv together and you should have 2 pieces. this side is the side where youre gonna want to be extra careful with because of shattering the glass or getting electrocuted! the back is the side you dont have to worry about its just plastic.

our crt was attached to the front so we unscrewed it and set the screws somewhere safe so we didnt lose them (even though we didnt need them hehe) you should be a-ok with cutting any wire besides the suction cup thingy attached to the crt bc that can shock and hurt you since it has a live circuit in it still! we detached the board holding it and cut some tape holding it down and bam!! we took it out (beware its very heavy be careful you dont drop it!)

next you want to cut the hole with tin snips or anything else sharp you have (be careful not to cut yourself in the process!) measure around your forehead and add 3-5 inches (i added 4) and that should be good to go! you just need to cut that out and mark a circle with the dimensions (optional it justs helps A LOT)

ok now you can spray paint it!! we put outs on a box and spraypainted in the driveway. make sure you wait till its completely dry before putting it back together! (to see how it looks so far hehe) this was our outcome.

(you might want to put it on your head to see if it fits) now cut up pieces of foam (we literally had like only 5 inches of foam and we had plenty) and line the foam around the edges of your hole to make sure you dont get cut when wearing it!!

we then put 1 1/2 styrofoam cones in the tv to support my head and the tv from falling off. here is how silly i looked wearing it like that. the 2 white cones were split in half and the other cone is in the far back of the tv.

after we did this, she measured the tv’s diameter and cut the plexiglass adding 1/2 and inch so it could fit very well inside of the tv. after that, she took the window tint, cut it to fit the plexiglass, and waited a few days for the tint to cure. if it isnt dark enough for you, you can always add a second layer! (we only did 1 layer)

i left my tv at my friends house bc i wouldnt be able to keep it anywhere safe. i wasnt with her when she cut and put the window tint in and glued it down, so about 3 days later she called me on skype wearing the tv on her head and it was really exciting!!

make sure if youre going to a con (we’re going to otakon!!) you have someone with you to ask people not to bang on the sides or tap the plexi of the tv because there is an echo in there and the noise hurts a lot!!

be safe and i hope i helped!!

remus lupin loving all things feminine

owning floral notebooks and pink inkwells

wearing perfume with lavender undertones

having perfectly manicured nails every day of the week, with the other marauders wondering how the hell he makes it out of herbology without any dirt under his nails

remus loving feminine things because waking up every month naked and covered in you and your friends’ blood is terrifying and the vanilla scented candle by his bed may not be particularly ‘manly’ but he’ll be damned if it’s not relaxing
